Continuing Education Credits
The Pennsylvania Community Providers Association is proud to serve its membership by offering continuing education credits in conjunction with the Office of Education and Regional Programming (OERP) of Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC) of UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside.

CERTIFIED ADDICTION COUNSELORS/CERTIFIED CO-OCCURRING DISORDERS PROFESSIONAL: CAC/CCDP
The Office of Education and Regional Programming, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic is certified by the Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB) to provide Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) and Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (CCDP) continuing education credits for those participants attending the entire program.

COUNSELORS: NBCC
Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic is recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors to offer continuing education for National Certified Counselors. Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic adheres to the NBCC Continuing Education Guidelines.

EDUCATORS: ACT 48
Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic is recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to offer continuing education credits under Act 48 guidelines. Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic adheres to the Act 48 Continuing Education Guidelines.

MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS: CEU
Nurses and other health care professionals are awarded the designated number of Continuing Education Units (CEU). One CEU is equal to 10 contact hours.

NURSES
The Office of Education and Regional Programming, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by PA State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

PSYCHOLOGISTS
Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic maintains responsibility for these programs and their content.

CERTIFIED PSYCHIATRIC REHABILITATION PRACTITIONERS: CPRP
The announced credit hours for each program can be applied to your training hours for the Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioners (CPRP).

LICENSED/CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKERS, LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS, LICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPISTS: LSW/LCSW/LPC/LMFT
The indicated number of clock hours of continuing education is provided through co-sponsorship of the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work, a PA-approved provider of social work continuing education in accordance with all the applicable educational and professional standards of the Council on Social Work Education. These clock hours satisfy requirements for LSW/LCSW, LPC, and LMFT renewal. For information of social work continuing education, call 412-624-3711.

CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS
The financial management course content has been approved for continuing professional education (CPE) credits by the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business Center for Executive Education, an authorized program sponsor for the Pennsylvania State Board of Accountancy (PX-000650-L). CPE Credits are only available for those workshops designated as part of the Financial Management track and are determined on a credit per hour basis (1 CPE – 1 hour course).
