2008 PCPA Conference

SEVEN SPRINGS MOUNTAIN RESORT, CHAMPION, PA
Welcome to the 2008 PCPA conference – Using Your I’s: Inspiration, Innovation, Integration! The “business” of caring for and working with persons with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual disabilities is ever evolving. In a regulatory and funding environment that continually asks systems to do more with less while assuring the health and safety of individuals in service, it can be a challenge to remain inspired to create the innovative and integrated services necessary to effect change.

Even when we think we can’t make it work we find a way. Sometimes we challenge the external demand and change the expectation; sometimes we agree that we need to change to meet the demand. Sometimes we simply hit an impasse and have to find another way around. Our environment is one of realignment, redesign, redistribution, redefining, and retooling. As a system we must continue to create the innovation and find the inspiration to meet the changes those challenges bring.

Conference ChairsIn bringing you this year’s conference our goal is to provide you with learning opportunities, information, and experiences integral to your work. We have crafted an agenda that brings ample opportunities to learn and relax, with days full of stellar speakers to offer a variety of stimulating and timely information. The conference schedule begins Sunday evening with conference registration followed by Passion, Purpose, and Possibilities, a “fireside chat” among and between a clinician, consumer, and employer about one individual’s journey to wellness. You will be inspired as you learn of the innovative and integrated efforts made in this partnership. Plan to come to the resort early on Sunday and enjoy Autumnfest activities at Seven Springs before the conference begins. No matter whether you are with us for a day or the entire event, we hope you will find your experience to be energizing, enlightening, and invigorating. Learn much and enjoy your time at the resort!

PCPA and its members have spent more than three decades advocating and informing systems about issues of relevance to mental health, intellectual disabilities, drug and alcohol, and children’s services. Through written analyses, meetings, conferences, trainings, and drafting legislation the association has always strived to assure that it’s members have what they need to pursue their passion of providing quality, innovative services and treatments.

We look forward to having you at conference and we thank you for coming. We offer special thanks also to our sponsors, exhibitors, advertisers, and presenters, whose support makes this conference possible. With all of you this year’s conference is sure to be a success!

See you at Seven Springs!
