Mueller\, PT\, DPT\nTuesday\, August 4\, 2015\n12:00 pm EDT \nViolette Lavender\, Au.D\, CCC-A\, F-AAA is a pediatric audiologist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She was instrumental in the creation of the Pediatric Balance Center\, has developed new techniques for the evaluation of children with vestibular disorders\, and has been invited to speak on this topic regionally and nationally. Other focus areas in Violette’s practice include fitting individuals for hearing aids and verification measures for children. Violette obtained her Masters of Science from Purdue University and her Au.D. from the University of Florida. \nGretchen Mueller\, PT\, DPT is the primary physical therapist providing vestibular rehabilitation services at Cincinnati Children’s Pediatric Balance Center. She works closely with the Balance Center team to coordinate each child’s care. Gretchen completed the APTA Competency Course certification in 2011\, followed by the Advanced Competency Course certification in 2014. Gretchen has spoken on this topic on various occasions\, educating other health care professionals in the field. She completed her Master of Physical Therapy at The Ohio State University in 2005\, followed by her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2011. \nAt the end of the session\, each participant will: \n\nIdentify the critical components of the balance system and its maturational development.\nList three techniques to modify the vestibular test battery for children.\nDescribe two types of pediatric friendly rehabilitation exercises to assist central compensation.\nImplement practical techniques to facilitate equilibrium.\n\nRegistration is open.
