Ms. Romeo is currently the Director of Occupational Therapy at Mealtime Connections, LLC in Tucson, Arizona where she acts as the lead educator for feeding interventions and is responsible for strategic goal planning and outcome development. Her experience as a clinician as well as in administrative and program development roles is extensive including work in the NICU, Outpatient, and home based settings. Cuyler’s background also includes work developing community partnerships to provide sustainable service delivery models in her home state.
Cuyler received her Bachelors and Master degrees in Allied Health Science and Occupational Therapy from the University of Texas in San Antonio, Texas. Her career in Occupational Therapy has cultivated interests and expertise in specialty areas of pediatric feeding and work with high risk infants. Ms. Romeo holds several certifications including: Infant Massage, Vital Stim, Lactation Counseling, Pediatric Handling, and is Specialty Board Certified in Feeding, Eating and Swallowing. She also serves on the AOTA Board for Specialty Certifications. In addition to her clinical work, Ms. Romeo is well published on the topic of Pediatric Feeding and enjoys lecturing professionally.
At the end of the session, each participant will:
- Describe feeding, eating, and swallowing dysfunction according to the ICF model;
- Justify service dosage for feeding, eating, and swallowing dysfunction;
- Identify current qualification standards for assessment documentation based on medical necessity; and
- List at least (3) criterion referenced assessment tools to determine feeding, eating, and swallowing dysfunction.
