Fady is responsible for policy and regulatory matters related to Physical Disabilities and Aging, with primary focus on personal assistance, employment services, and service coordination. Emphasis is placed on engaging the Office of Long-Term Living and the Community HealthChoices Managed Care Organizations, coordination of care with Behavioral HealthChoices MCOs, and collaborations with other advocacy and provider associations. Fady is also the President / CEO of ProVantaCare, an RCPA-affiliated company focused on contracting with MCOs, and is the President of XtraGlobex, a consulting firm focused on Value-Based Payment contracting. He brings extensive experience in the advocacy and operations of human services providers in physical disabilities and aging, from his role at Liberty Resources, Inc., and his service with a number of nonprofit services providers. He earned an MBA in Marketing from The University of Tennessee and a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Capella University.

Health information technology — Electronic Health Records, Health Information Exchange, telemedicine, patient portals, electronic Clinical Quality Measures, and more — is continuing to change the healthcare industry in dramatic ways. More importantly, Health IT (HIT) is providing powerful tools to drive improvements in patient care and population health. The Department conducted a survey in October and November 2020, at the request of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), to determine the extent of Health Information Technology and Health Information Exchange (HIT/E) adoption and usage among Pennsylvania’s healthcare providers. Join the FEMA Office of Disability Integration and Coordination (ODIC) on July 21, 2021 at 11:00 am–12:00 pm ET to observe the 31st anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, focusing on Independent Living for people with disabilities.

July marks the 31st anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This sweeping civil rights legislation expanded on the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities by federally-funded entities. The ADA covered all aspects of public life, prohibiting discrimination against people with disabilities in employment (Title I), state and local government services (Title II), public accommodations (Title III), and telecommunications (Title IV). Its provisions cover more than 56 million Americans, or approximately 20 percent of the U.S. population, who have a disability.

Learn how FEMA and the National Council on Independent Living work to provide equity and support independence by integrating the needs of people with disabilities into emergency management planning.
