How Can You Move Your Way?
Anything that gets your heart beating faster counts. And it all adds up. Find what works for you! Walking, dancing, gardening, swimming, and stretching are just a few suggestions for weekly movement. Adults need a mix of physical activity to stay healthy. Moderate-intensity aerobic activity at least 150 minutes a week, and muscle-strengthening activity at least two days a week. Do activities that make your muscles work harder than usual.

Kids and teens ages 6 to 17 need at least 60 minutes every day. Most of it can be moderate-intensity aerobic activity. At least three days a week, encourage them to step it up to vigorous intensity. As a part of their 60 minutes, they also need muscle-strengthening at least three days a week and bone-strengthening three days a week.

What’s Your Move?
Do you have a weekly movement routine or are you just getting started? Share your story with us!

Send an email with subject line “Move Your Way” and ODP may feature your story on MyODP News Online! Please be sure to fill out the Department of Human Services (DHS) Media Release Form to send with your story!

**Importantly, 99-85-10 applies to both state mental hospitals and community providers, but OMHSAS-25-03 applies only to state mental hospitals.**

Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced, along with 54 other attorneys general, a $7.4 billion settlement with Purdue Pharma and owners, the Sackler family, regarding the company’s manufacturing and distribution of opioids that fueled a nationwide addiction epidemic.

The settlement resolves pending litigation against Purdue and the Sacklers, with those entities acknowledging their role in contributing to the epidemic with rampant production and aggressive marketing of opioids for decades.

The settlement also ends the Sacklers’ ownership of Purdue and their ability to sell opioids in the United States.

Pennsylvania is estimated to receive as much as $200 million from the settlement — over a period of 15 years — depending on how many municipalities sign off on the settlement terms.
