HR Committee Meeting and Human Resources FLSA Training (Free!)
ATTENTION: All RCPA Members with HR Responsibility
The RCPA Human Resources (HR) Committee will hold its quarterly meeting on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Penn Grant Centre (RCPA), 777 E Park Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
We are very excited to announce that Jane E’del*, Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist for the US Department of Labor (DOL), Wage and Hour Division, has committed to providing a two-part series, offered in February and May.
FEBRUARY TOPIC
Avoiding Common Wage and Hour Mistakes: What US DOL Investigators are Finding and how to Comply
May Topic (Registration for May will be sent in April)
Everything you need to know about FMLA and are afraid to ask!
February’s informative session will provide attendees with the most common wage and hour mistakes employers make; not counting all hours worked including incorrectly calculating wait time and on-call time; misapplying exempt status to non-exempt salaried employees; not calculating appropriate overtime and payment; not properly calculating meals and break time; limiting the number of hours employees are allowed to record; and more.
Participants can apply this training toward HRCI and SHRM continuing education requirements (2 credit hours). Although this activity is not pre-approved, you will receive a certificate of attendance to use toward recertification. For SHRM credit, please see this document for how to secure your CEs. You will need the above training description when applying for CEs. For HRCI credit, you can simply add this session to your recertification application. Keep your certificate of attendance in the event that you are audited.
REGISTER HERE, as registration is required (there is no cost to participate). The registration deadline is February 11, 2018. If you would like to attend the meeting and have not officially joined the RCPA HR Committee, please contact Cindy Lloyd to join the committee or feel free to attend as a guest to try it out!
For maximum benefit, your attendance is encouraged in person. However, for those of you who are unable to attend in person, webcasting will be available for this event.
Please send your requested topic discussions for the 10:00 am – 12:30 pm committee meeting segment of this event to Cindy Lloyd.
• Thank you to Horizon House, Inc. for sponsoring lunch for all attendees! •
