During a recent Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) provider call, a number of issues and concerns were raised specific to AmeriHealth Caritas/Keystone to the Office of Long-Term Living (OLTL) staff. OLTL decided to schedule a call with staff from AmeriHealth Caritas/Keystone and providers that utilize them as their Community HealthChoices (CHC) Managed Care Organization (MCO). Some of the topics to be discussed include the CHC-MCO scorecard, timeliness and length of time for authorizations, terminations, and issues about HHA.

The call is scheduled for August 23, 2023, from 9:00 am – 10:00 am. To join in this discussion, the call information is provided below:

RCPA’s brain injury providers will begin to have quarterly meetings with the Community HealthChoices Managed Care Organizations (CHC-MCO) and are encouraged to save the following dates for these meetings:

  • April 6, 2023;
  • July 13, 2023; and
  • October 19, 2023.

The meetings will be held from 1:00 pm – 3:15 pm via webcast. During the meetings, each CHC-MCO will be allocated a 45-minute window of time. The focus of these quarterly meetings will be to have open dialogue on issues or concerns, ask questions, etc. Members will be encouraged to submit questions prior to the meeting dates.

The webcast information, which will include registration information, will be sent 30 days prior to the date of each call. Links to each call will be sent to registrants 24 hours prior to the call.

On behalf of the Pennsylvania Long-Term Care Learning Network, the Jewish Healthcare Foundation invites you to join the next special population webinar on October 13, 2022.

Going Beyond “Great Job!” With Appreciation That Impacts Lives
This webinar will continue to follow this quarter’s education theme, addressing workforce challenges. We all share the same need to feel appreciated for our contributions, yet only 3 in 10 US employees strongly agree that in the last seven days they have received recognition or praise for doing good work (Gallup, 2017). Using an interactive exercise, this session will explore a different way of expressing appreciation that supports connection and wellbeing.

Please invite the following Special Population Team Members:

  • Nursing Home Administrators;
  • Directors of Nursing;
  • Nurse Managers;
  • Medical Directors;
  • Service Coordinator Supervisors; and
  • Human Resource Team Members.

VISIT HERE to register for this Zoom webinar scheduled on Thursday, October 13, at 2:00 pm.

You will need your National Provider Identifier (NPI) to register. (If you do not have one or do not know it, please enter 0 on the registration form)

REMINDER: If you have not already registered for the October 6, 2022, Nursing Facility Webinar: Protecting and Preserving our Workforce by Preventing Common Injuries, VISIT HERE.

The Learning Network is part of the Department of Human Services’ Quality Strategy for Nursing Facilities, offered as a collaboration of the Community HealthChoices Managed Care Organizations.

The Office of Long-Term Living (OLTL) continues to remind participants of the in-person drop-in sessions for those that are in Community HealthChoices (CHC) participant-directed services due to Tempus taking over as the fiscal/employer agent for these services. These sessions are scheduled to assist with the completion of the Common Law Employer (CLE) and Direct Care Worker (DCW) packets and provide training on how to use the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system. Appointments do not need to be scheduled, and the entire process will take one hour. Session dates and locations are provided below.
