The Community of Practice (CoP) for Supporting Families Work Plan for Fiscal Year (FY) 2022/23 reflects ongoing efforts as well as areas of focus for new or enhanced strategies for the Supporting Families Initiative Director and leadership team. It also includes highlights of accomplishments from the prior FY. The work plan can be found on the MyODP page for the CoP for Supporting Families.

A webinar is also available that describes the structure of the work plan and the relationship of the Supporting Families Initiative to the Information Sharing and Advisory Committee (ISAC). It also explains a few of the new and enhanced activities for this fiscal year.

On August 4, 2022, a webinar was held that provided an overview of Bulletin 00-22-03, Technical Guidance for Claim and Service Documentation. The recording of this presentation is now available.

As a follow up to the August 4 webinar, a virtual office hour has been scheduled for Tuesday, October 4, 2022, from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) will address frequently asked questions and reserve time to answer additional questions. Attendees are encouraged to view the August webinar prior to the VOH.

ODP Announcement 22-094 announces the release of the Residential Individual Support Plan (ISP) Staffing three-part webcast training located on MyODP.

The Residential ISP Staffing trainings described in ODP Announcement 22-017, which were provided virtually or in-person, have been completed. To ensure ongoing training is available for new staff or for current staff who may benefit from a review of the content, a three-part training webcast is now available.

The training covers the same content as the prior virtual or in-person sessions. The training includes opportunities for participants to apply the concepts through examples and can be taken at a pace appropriate to the needs of the participant and their agency.

Participants who complete all requirements will receive 4 hours of training credit. Certificates for past trainings on MyODP are still available in the course where you completed the requirements.

Charting the LifeCourse was created to help individuals and families of all abilities and all ages develop a vision for a good life, think about what they need to know and do, identify how to find or develop supports, and discover what it takes to live the lives they want to live. This training series is for all professional stakeholders.

Participants in this training will:

  • Learn about the National Charting the LifeCourse Community of Practice;
  • Apply LifeCourse Principles and LifeCourse Framework; and
  • Practice Using LifeCourse Tools.

Welcome to the first edition of Technology Today! The aim of this quarterly newsletter is to share the work being done by the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) Technology Taskforce, as well as resources, events, and success stories.

ODP hopes you enjoy the inaugural edition of this newsletter and look for future editions! The Technology Today newsletter is also available on MyODP.

ODP Announcement 22-073 notifies stakeholders that there is now an additional training session available to members of HRTs and HRCs. With the release of Bulletin 00-21-01 “Guidance for Human Rights Teams and Human Rights Committees,” the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) released a 4-part webcast series titled “Human Rights In Depth” to provide information and support for stakeholders involved in implementing the guidance and requirements related to individual rights and restrictive procedures.

The 4 webcasts, which are available on MyODP, provide detailed discussions of the following topic areas:

  1. Responsibility to Inform and Strategies to Support People to Exercise their Rights;
  2. How to Make a Determination;
  3. Human Rights Teams; and
  4. Human Rights Committees.

Following up on those webcasts, ODP offered webinar trainings to members of HRTs and HRCs to delve more deeply into the process of “MAKING A DETERMINATION.”

ODP Announcement 22-079 announces the start of Cycle 2 of the Quality Assessment & Improvement (QA&I) Process. Cycle 2, Year 1 of the QA&I Process will begin on August 1, 2022. All materials and resources related to the QA&I Process will be posted on the MyODP Training & Resource Center (MyODP). Please note that you must be logged into MyODP to access the information.

ODP Announcement 076-18: Re-Issue is to inform providers that the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) is requiring newly enrolling providers of Residential Habilitation Services to complete the ODP-approved Dual Diagnosis Training curriculum. This applies to new Residential Habilitation providers who will be enrolled and qualified to provide these services effective September 1, 2018, and thereafter. This re-issue is to announce that the 2022 Dual Diagnosis Curriculum is now available on MyODP, and a new link has been linked in the Discussion section of this announcement.
