ODP Announcement 21-088 announces the release of an updated Certified Investigator Peer Review Manual and notifies providers that Temple University will begin its 2021–2022 peer review process on December 1, 2021.

This document replaces the manual that was published in 2018. All prospective and current CIs, Administrative Review Committee (ARE) members, and other administrative staff are required to be familiar with the peer review process guidelines that are outlined in the manual. Prospective and current CIs, ARE members, and other administrative staff should review the entire 2021 Certified Investigator Peer Review Manual to ensure their understanding and use of the standards and protocols contained within it.

To align with Incident Management (IM) Bulletin 00-21-02 (which was issued March 1, 2021, and became effective on July 1, 2021) and the Enterprise Incident Management (EIM) system, several new or expanded topics have been added to the manual. The 2021 Certified Investigator Peer Review Manual can be found on MyODP by using the following path:

  • Training > Certified Investigator Program > CI Help and Resources > All Documents > Manuals; or
  • By clicking: 2021 Certified Investigator Peer Review Process Manual.

In addition to the release of the 2021 Certified Investigator Peer Review Manual, Temple University will begin its 2021–2022 peer review process on December 1, 2021. Provider investigations will be selected at random, and notifications will be sent by Temple University to inform providers of the incidents selected for review.

If you have any questions regarding the 2021 Certified Investigator Peer Review Manual or Peer Review process, please contact Temple directly.

Announcement 21-037 is to inform all provider agencies that the 2019–2020 IM4Q Reports have been published and are available on MyODP. As previously announced, provider-level Independent Monitoring for Quality (IM4Q) reports and provider profiles will not be issued with 2019–2020 data

Due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) suspended completion of all face-to-face interviews by IM4Q local programs in March 2020. This resulted in a significant number of surveys not being completed. While ample data was collected to create a statewide summary report for 2019–2020, the data was not sufficient to provide reliable provider-level reports.

This has also prevented provider profiles based on 2019–2020 IM4Q data from being completed. A reduced number of IM4Q interviews resumed virtually in 2020–2021. Following the closure of the IM4Q cycle, ODP determined that there was enough data collected to release the 2019-2020 report, including a Statewide Summary for 2020.

ODP Announcement 21-071 announces the release of additional Incident Management (IM) Bulletin trainings on the MyODP website, which focus on incident response, medication management, and target separation. • A Guide to Victim’s Assistance — This guide was developed to provide support team members information about resources available to support victims of crime that can be accessed locally. This guide is discussed in Part 3 of the series.

The second course is titled “Agency Focused Incident Management Training” and contains two webcasts that are targeted to Agency Incident Management Representatives and others who may have a role in agency incident reporting, management, oversight, or monitoring activities.

The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) announced that there is now a hub for the Information Sharing and Advisory Committee (ISAC) on the MyODP Training and Resource Center online. ISAC is composed of stakeholders in the IDD system who come together to share information to and from ODP and to advise the Deputy about issues important to our stakeholders. ISAC members are expected to come with information from the group they represent and to share information form ODP learned at ISAC with their group. In order to enhance communication, ODP has created the ISAC hub.

To view the ISAC hub, you may create a MyODP account, or log in as a guest if you do not have an account. Currently, a calendar of scheduled meetings, agenda and topic items from the April 11, 2018 meeting, a folder for previous meeting materials, and the Everyday Lives booklet and recommendations are posted on the hub. Agenda items and presentation materials will continue to be posted for future ISAC meetings. Some materials may be limited to ISAC members only. View the ODP Announcement regarding the hub here.
