The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) has shared ODPANN 24-011. This announcement is to notify that an updated Trainer Manual and Presentation Slides are now available in the Trainer Resources section of the Medication Administration system. These resources provide instruction for trainers on how to grade Observation Checks in the Online Student courses as well as advertise two new face-to-face classes as part of the winter 2024 Train-the-Trainer Q1 2024 Face-to-Face Schedule. The purpose of this communication is to announce that registration is open for the next Virtual Office Hours (VOH) with ODP’s Policy Department. This session is on Navigating ODP Resources and is geared towards individuals and families who are just beginning to learn about ODP or for those who want a basic understanding of the topic being discussed. The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) has shared ODPANN 24-008. The purpose of this communication is to provide clarification regarding new residential qualification requirements in waiver amendments, effective November 1, 2023, including the release of a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document. This clarification includes the requirement to have prior experience providing non-residential waiver services. Please view the announcement and FAQ document for information and details.

The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) has shared ODPANN 24-007. The purpose of this announcement is to inform all waiver providers and vendors whose last digit of their Master Provider Index (MPI) number is 0, 1, or 2, as well as new providers who enrolled in the 2022/23 fiscal year, that they must submit their qualification documentation to their Assigned AE and/or ODP’s Bureau of Supports for Autism and Special Populations (BSASP). Starting January 1, 2024, all SIS-A Assessments will be conducted using the Supports Intensity Scale-Adult® 2nd Edition. The Arc of PA is partnering with the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) in hosting a webinar on February 7, 2024, from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm. The webinar will educate individuals and families on the changes and enhancements to the SIS-A evaluation. Register here.

The Department of Human Services’ (DHS) Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) and the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) invites you to join the Statewide Quarterly Positive Approaches & Practices virtual meeting on January 24, 2024. The meeting will be held from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm and focus on restrictive procedures. OMHSAS and ODP will discuss restrictive procedures as they relate to the licensing of Community Residential Rehabilitation (CRR) services, Inpatient Psychiatric services, Long-Term Structured Residences (LTSR), Residential Treatment Facilities for Adults (RTF-A), and Community Homes. There will also be a panel presentation to review some of the strategies associated with the development of restrictive procedures, including tips for the creation of plans consistent with best practice strategies.
