Competence and Confidence Partners in Policymaking — C2P2 2022
A Leadership Development Training Program

C2P2 is designed for:

  • Adults with intellectual disabilities and/or on the autism spectrum, and for
  • Parents of school age children with intellectual disabilities and/or on the autism spectrum.

C2P2 participants make a commitment to attend multiple two-day training sessions throughout the course of the year.

C2P2 2022 Schedule: Session Dates

  • SESSION 1 : February 4 and 5
  • SESSION 2 : March 4 and 5
  • SESSION 3 : April 1 and 2
  • SESSION 4 : May 13 and 14
  • SESSION 5 : June 3 and 4
  • SESSION 6 : June 24 and 25
  • SESSION 7 : August 26 and 27
  • SESSION 8 : September 23 and 24

Session Times:

Fridays 1:00 pm–9:00 pm and Saturdays 8:00 am–3:00 pm
Session location: Harrisburg Hilton, 1 N 2nd Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101

  • All sessions are in-person.
  • Social distancing and masking for in-person activities are strongly encouraged and may be required by the funder, venue, or other rules.
  • Qualified participants receive overnight accommodations, meals and travel expenses.

The new date for this meeting is Monday, January 10, 2022, from 1:00 pm–4:00 pm. The meeting will be held via webcast. If you have any suggested agenda topics, please send them to Melissa Dehoff.

ODP Announcement 21-085 serves to communicate that registration for the January–June 2022 sessions of the CI Initial Certification Course are now open on MyODP. Due to continued concerns regarding COVID-19, all January–June 2022 Initial CI Certification sessions (or cohorts) of the course will be provided virtually rather than in person. To register, use the registration link on the Certified Investigator Initial Certification Course Information page. You must be logged into MyODP to access the registration page.

There is still time to register for the 2021 virtual Psychostimulant Symposium. With the increase in stimulant and polysubstance use in the commonwealth, the symposium, which is being held December 1–2, will serve as a platform to learn the dangers associated with the misuse of psychostimulants while discovering tactics for preventing widespread psychostimulant use disorder, protecting individuals and communities, and providing effective treatment. Attendance is free, but registration is required.

Dual Diagnosis Professional Conference Series:
Trauma Informed Care — Overview and Practical Applications

The Department of Human Services’ Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) and the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) are pleased to announce the Dual Diagnosis Professional Conference Series, which offers presentations focused on supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism (IDA) and mental health needs. The selected presenters share their expertise on best and promising practices as well as provide general knowledge. Session topics, which focus on increasing capacity to serve individuals with dual diagnosis in the community, are chosen based on identified needs and with input from the field of professional stakeholders.

  • Invited audience of all professional stakeholders, including direct and clinical supporters for individuals with IDA are encouraged to attend.
  • Registration is required and is without charge to attendees.
  • Three (3) hours of training credit and a certificate of achievement is provided.
