RCPA invites members to participate in the Coalition for the Mental Health Safety Net meeting on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. You can register for the meeting here. Please note that if you previously registered for the July 12 meeting, you will need to register again. If you have any questions regarding registration, please contact Allison Brognia.

The Coalition is open to all stakeholder groups, and we encourage members to participate in these efforts of joint advocacy in protecting and preserving our mental health service delivery system. If you would like to join the coalition or have any questions, please contact Jim Sharp.

The 2023 RCPA Annual Conference A Decade of Unity plans to start off strong with a full lineup of workshops addressing current trends and ideas in health and human services. Held at the Hershey Lodge October 10 – 13, the conference will showcase a wide range of topics and host plenty of opportunities for CEUs. The agenda for the April 5, 2023, Managed Long-Term Services and Supports (MLTSS) Subcommittee meeting has been released from the Department of Human Services (DHS) Office of Long-Term Living (OLTL). The meeting is scheduled for 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Department of Education’s Honors Suite, 1st Floor, 333 Market St. Harrisburg, PA 17126. The meeting will also be held via webinar and remote streaming.

Included in this meeting will be Dr. Val Arkoosh, Acting Secretary of DHS, who will provide an update on the 2023 DHS priorities.

RCPA will be hosting our 2023 Capitol Day on Monday, April 24. During the day, RCPA will have a press conference and rally on the steps of the Capitol outside the Main Rotunda between 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm. We are requesting that members schedule appointments with their Senate and House legislators to discuss the state budget, legislation, and regulations. Please register for Capitol Day press conference/rally here.

In the near future, RCPA will be sending out legislative priorities and other policy documents for legislative visits. Please watch your emails for Capitol Day updates. As an additional resource, members can go on the Pennsylvania Capitol website to find parking and maps of the Capitol.
