Save the Date

Two dates available (same content in both sessions):

  • Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
  • Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm

Introduction to Charting the LifeCourse (CtLC) is designed to present learners with an overview of the CtLC Person-Centered Framework. It will provide a general awareness of the guiding principles and tools presented by a Certified CtLC Presenter. This training is designed for anyone who is interested in learning about the CtLC Framework and will be led by Lisa Meyer and David Forbes.

After the CtLC training, participants will be able to:

  • Define the core belief of the CtLC Framework.
  • Identify how CtLC principles and tools can enhance decision making, problem solving, and self-advocacy in individuals.
  • Describe ways CtLC is applied.

RCPA staff and Conference Committee members are grateful to all of our attendees, speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors for a great experience at the Hershey Lodge this past September. We are happy to report that we had 800 people in attendance throughout the week!

Participants were able to hear from over 150 speakers, and RCPA was able to record many of the workshops as well as the keynote and plenary sessions. The recordings are available to attendees who previously registered for the conference in the mobile app. For those who are interested in earning CEs, you can earn over 110 credits!

We were honored to host 86 exhibit booths in our Connections Hall, representing a variety of services and products from pharmacy initiatives to technology, furniture to HR services, insurance and electronic health record systems to education, and so much more.

Our conference in 2025 will be held in September once again! We ask you to save the date — the 2025 RCPA Conference will be held September 9 – 12, 2025.

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy recognizes National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) every October to celebrate and highlight contributions people with disabilities make to America’s workplaces.

The PA Treasury Department’s PA ABLE Savings Program is hosting a virtual event on October 1. Registration is open, and details will be available soon!

RCPA is excited to announce that we will be hosting our fall golf outing to support the RCPA PAC on Monday, September 23, 2024, in conjunction with the Annual Conference. Conference attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and presenters can now register to participate in the RCPA PAC’s golf outing at the Colonial Golf & Tennis Club at 4901 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17112. Registration and lunch will be held from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, with the shotgun start beginning at 12:00 pm.

Sponsorships are available for this worthwhile cause. We hope you will consider becoming a golf outing sponsor; it is a great way for your organization to receive name recognition as well as an opportunity to support the RCPA fundraiser!

Save the date for the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Program’s (DDAP) 2024 Recovery Month kickoff event “Share the Hope: A Recovery Story,” featuring guest speaker DDAP Secretary Latika Davis-Jones. The event will take place from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on September 12 at Sailors and Soldiers Grove, Capitol Complex, 531 Commonwealth Ave., Harrisburg, PA. More details will be provided soon.

The Regional Collaboratives for Supporting Families Summit will be held virtually this year. The Regional Collaboratives for Supporting Families connect diverse individuals, families, and community partners to identify what people and families need to be supported, to develop and implement strategies to meet these needs through local collaboration and partnerships, and to participate in the conversation to improve systems. This objective allows all people to best nurture and support their loved ones in having full, meaningful everyday lives in their communities. This year’s summit will bring together Regional Collaboratives from across the Commonwealth, sharing experience and knowledge and developing strategies with a focus on Family Matters! The Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) will host the 2023 Emerging Drug Trend Symposium from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm on Thursday, November 9, at the Penn Harris Hotel in Camp Hill, PA. The symposium will provide attendees with valuable insights into three key areas: the latest trends in drug use within Pennsylvania, shifts in overdose patterns with a particular focus on increasing rates of overdose deaths in communities of color, and the exploration of best practices and innovative strategies to effectively respond to these emerging drug trends. The Pennsylvania Department of Aging has released a Save the Date announcement for the 2023 Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD) virtual forum. The topic for this forum, scheduled for November 2, 2023, from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm, will be “Focus on Lewy Body and Frontotemporal Dementias.”

Registration for the virtual forum will open on October 4, 2023. Questions should be directed to Heidi Champa, Aging Services Specialist, via email.


It’s official! The National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals’ Annual Conference is back in person in 2023. For the first time since 2019, NADSP will host a two-day in-person conference with keynotes, breakout sessions, and opportunities to celebrate, connect, and learn the leading developments in the workforce.

On September 8, 2023, the Sixth Annual NADSP Conference will commence at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel at Station Square. Additional details, including a request for session proposals, hotel booking information, and sponsorship opportunities, will be shared in the next few weeks.
