The Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), in partnership with Penn State Harrisburg’s Douglas W. Pollock Center for Addiction Outreach and Research, Shatterproof, and PGP, also known as The Public Good Projects, announced findings from the fourth year of the Life Unites Us campaign, an evidence-based approach to reducing the stigma of substance use disorder (SUD).

During its fourth year, the campaign served over nine million impressions to almost two million Pennsylvanians with information and messaging to encourage stigma reduction.Life Unites Us is a people-forward, research-driven campaign that DDAP launched in September 2020. The campaign utilizes social media to spread stories of individuals in recovery, their family members, and allies who support those with SUD. Additionally, the campaign gives local organizations an opportunity to learn through webinars, fosters community partnerships to promote recovery-focused support at the local level, and maintains an interactive data dashboard detailing the campaign’s progress.

The Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs announced an open enrollment period at the end of 2022 for licensed substance use disorder (SUD) treatment providers in Pennsylvania to submit their information to be included in the Addiction Treatment Locator, Assessment, and Standards Platform (ATLAS). This open enrollment period has been extended through January 13, 2023.

Those who can take advantage of this extension include:

  1. Facilities already included in ATLAS. Providers already enrolled and needing to make changes to their profile information should contact Shatterproof directly.
  2. Facilities that have not submitted the treatment facility survey. Shatterproof will reach out directly to licensed SUD facilities that are not currently included on the tool. There is a streamlined submission process for those organizations with multiple facilities.

By completing the ATLAS survey during this open enrollment period, providers ensure that the information presented in their site’s profile on the ATLAS website is accurate. Providers also gain access to a customized portal that allows them to benchmark and compare their services against their peers. Contact Angad Buttar with questions or to have the treatment facility survey resent to your agency.

The Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), in partnership with Shatterproof, is in the process of implementing the ATLAS (Addiction Treatment Locator, Analysis, and Standards) platform in Pennsylvania over the coming months.

ATLAS is a free, multi-state, web-based platform that will help ensure that Pennsylvanians are able to quickly and easily access addiction treatment resources and information that meets their individual needs. Shatterproof will be contacting providers with instructions for the completion of the Treatment Data Survey. Provider participation in ATLAS is not mandatory. To this point, nearly 40 providers have completed the survey.

The following resources are available to help complete the survey.

In June, the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) announced its partnership with Shatterproof to develop and implement the Addiction Treatment Locator, Assessment, and Standards Platform (ATLAS). ATLAS evaluates addiction treatment providers’ use of evidence-based best practices and publicly displays this information to support those in need and their loved ones in finding appropriate, quality care.

Shatterproof is hosting monthly webinars up through January 2022 to introduce ATLAS to treatment providers and provide project updates.
