ODP Announcement 23-049 shares that the Human Services Research Institute (HSRI) has extended the deadline for completing the 2022 National Core Indicators® (NCI) State of the Workforce Survey. The portal will now close on Monday, July 31, 2023.

A national deadline extension has given eligible provider agencies in Pennsylvania an opportunity to complete the NCI State of the Workforce Survey. If your agency has already completed the survey, no additional action is needed.

To obtain a representative sample, HSRI is aiming for a 5% or lower margin of error for each participating state. The lower the margin of error, the more representative and impactful the data will be. Based on current responses, Pennsylvania has a margin of error of 8.4%. The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) is encouraging providers to complete the survey, which will give stakeholders critical information about workforce metrics.

For any questions, please contact Ms. Lee Stephens, ODP Independent Monitoring for Quality (IM4Q)/NCI Statewide Lead.

The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) wants your feedback! The anonymous Supporting Families Survey seeks input from individuals who receive support from a Supports Coordinator (SC, also known as a case manager or case worker), and family members of people who receive support through an SC. The survey helps ODP learn if people and their families have the information and support they need. Your answers will help to improve services from ODP and local partners.

Why take the survey?

  • You can let ODP know your satisfaction with the support you and your family receive from the SC.
  • You can let ODP know other things that would be helpful for you and your family.
  • ODP will be able to prepare information and supports to meet your family’s and other families’ needs.

The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) has shared ODPANN 23-047: Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) and Temple University Harrisburg — Certified Investigator Initial Certification Course Delivery Questionnaire. This communication asks stakeholders to complete a survey to gain input on future delivery methods for the Certified Investigator Initial Certification course.

The short questionnaire will help determine the path moving forward for scheduling in-person and virtual CI Initial Certification courses. ODP would like to hear from current CIs, previous CIs, organization management, administration, and leadership.

The COVID-19 Mitigation Unit is currently evaluating devices that can eliminate viruses, bacteria, mold, and other pathogens from air and surfaces simultaneously. The devices could be stand-alone or wall mounted, utilize a standard outlet for power, and would come with 2 years of supplies that may be needed to run the device.

If funding is approved, the Department of Health (DOH) would purchase and distribute the devices free of charge to small businesses, nonprofit entities, healthcare providers, and other facilities throughout the Commonwealth to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, flu, and other diseases. If you are interested in receiving a device that could greatly reduce viruses, bacteria, mold, and other pathogens in your facility, please complete this application. The deadline for applications is May 31, 2023.

Currently, the application is being used to gauge interest in receiving a device, and those who complete the application are not guaranteed a device; however, the application must be accurately completed in order to be considered when and if funding becomes available. At that point, DOH would reach out to the facilities chosen to receive devices to confirm delivery details and provide an approval notice. Devices will be awarded based on the amount of funding available and on a first come first served basis. DOH will also consider factors such as foot traffic versus square footage and COVID-19 risk in the community served, prioritizing underserved communities.

If you are interested, please complete this application. Feel free to email with any questions.

The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) Technology Task Force is seeking input from providers about the use of Remote Supports, Assistive Technology, Teleservices, and Video Monitoring. The information collected will develop baseline data and inform future decisions related to supportive technology. We would like to thank all providers that have participated in the survey so far. We have extended the deadline so that all providers may have a chance to participate.

This brief survey should take approximately 5–10 minutes to complete. Please include information for all individuals served and for all service locations throughout your organization. Once collected, ODP plans to publish the results for all stakeholders.

The survey will close on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 4:00 pm.

Thank you for your participation.
