For an individual to remain healthy, safe, and satisfied, recognizing, mitigating, and responding to risks are the responsibility of the entire team. Supports Coordinators (SC) have a critical role and responsibility on the team to monitor all the services that are being provided to the individuals they support. Because providers of Residential Services have a unique responsibility to protect and promote the health, safety, and rights of individuals they support in all aspects of their life, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, this training will specifically focus on an SC’s authority and responsibilities when monitoring Residential Services.

This is a 4-part training that is provided for and recommended by the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) for new SCs during their first year of employment (days 61-365).

ODP Announcement 22-011 announces that, in preparation for revisions to the Targeted Support Management (TSM) Bulletin, the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) is offering training for Supports Coordination Organizations (SCOs) and Administrative Entities (AEs) that covers important updated information to the soon-to-be-released TSM Bulletin.

Training can be found on MyODP. The course “Understanding and Implementing the Targeted Support Management Bulletin #00-22-01” is available now.

Additionally, ODP will be offering an accompanying virtual office hour (VOH) session where ODP leadership will be available to address any TSM-related questions. The VOH session is scheduled for March 1, 2022, from 2:00 pm–3:00 pm and is open by registration only. Prior to registering for the VOH, ODP recommends participants review both the draft TSM Bulletin and the “Understanding and Implementing the Targeted Support Management Bulletin” webcast.

There is still time to register for the 2021 virtual Psychostimulant Symposium. With the increase in stimulant and polysubstance use in the commonwealth, the symposium, which is being held December 1–2, will serve as a platform to learn the dangers associated with the misuse of psychostimulants while discovering tactics for preventing widespread psychostimulant use disorder, protecting individuals and communities, and providing effective treatment. Attendance is free, but registration is required.
