The Institute on Disabilities has released its Statewide Report, which includes data gathered through the Independent Monitoring for Quality (IM4Q) Project in Pennsylvania during the 2022/23 fiscal year. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, data collection has shifted to a hybrid model, with some interviews taking place in person and others occurring remotely. Questions may be sent via email.

An Italian Down Syndrome organization called CoorDown has released an ad in recognition of World Down Syndrome Awareness Day, which is held on March 21. Its tagline, #AssumeICan, is being used by people with Down Syndrome to show that many of the assumptions about their drive and abilities are just that…assumptions.

Negative assumptions are extremely limiting. Instead of assuming limitations, Madison Tevlin, a young woman with Down Syndrome, offers a suggestion: #AssumeThatICan.

The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) reminds Residential Providers and Supports Coordination Organizations (SCOs)* of the new requirement to submit year-end financial statements no later than 9 months after their fiscal year end. For many providers this will be March 31, 2024. Details of this requirement are available in ODPANN 23-76.

If your MPI is included on the available spreadsheet, your financials have not been received as of March 25, 2024, and will need to be submitted.
