Dear ANCOR members

We know that COVID-19 is leaving many of you scrambling to ensure that the people you support have access to groceries, cleaning supplies, medical supplies and other essential items. In an effort to establish a partnership with Amazon to help ameliorate these situations, we wrote a letter to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos on March 20, which subsequently was reported on in the New York Post yesterday.

We now have a potential opportunity to work directly with Amazon, and while it’s too early to tell what the company may do, if anything, to prioritize the needs of people with I/DD, they have asked us to provide more information.

Therefore, we are asking you to please take five minutes in the next 24 hours to let us know what your experiences have been by completing this short form. The form asks which products you have struggled to procure, whether you have used Amazon to procure these items, and what sticking points have popped up in the process.

With your feedback, we will try our best to work with Amazon to identify potential solutions to your challenges. Thank you for completing the form today.

In response to COVID-19 and its potential impact on obtaining FBI clearances and the delivery of services to individuals with an intellectual disability or autism, the Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) Announcement 20-034 was released to allow a Provisional Hiring Process that includes guidance for FBI clearances.

ODP recognizes that many FBI clearance sites, operated by IdentiGO™ by Idemia in Pennsylvania, are closed in response to COVID-19. ODP will suspend the FBI fingerprinting check for employers hiring staff serving adults and will accept the provisional hiring template for staff serving adults if an FBI clearance is unable to be obtained.

This provisional hiring process can only be used when the IdentiGO™ by Idemia service locations are closed in your area due to the COVID-19 emergency. If a provider hires someone provisionally, it must be done in compliance with the Older Adults Protective Services Act (35 P.S. §§ 10225.101—10225.5102) and applicable regulations.

This template, labeled “COVID-19 Provisional Employment,” contains a provisional employment disclosure statement for staff serving adults. Providers should use this template as a resource if there is a need to hire someone on a provisional basis during the COVID-19 emergency.

The template must be submitted as part of the provider’s qualification documentation to demonstrate that the provider is following the provisional hiring policy. This provisional hiring process is only applicable during the COVID-19 emergency and the lack of availability of the IdentiGO™ by Idemia locations.

If you have any questions regarding the Provisional Hiring process, please contact the ODP Provider Qualification Mailbox.

RCPA has been contacted about the potential opportunity to order surgical masks (3-ply disposable mask with ear loop) for use in residential programs, homes, and outpatient settings. These are NOT N-95 masks which are used for inpatient settings. To understand the difference, view this flyer.

There are 220 masks in a box, available for $220/box, which includes shipping and are shipped directly to the provider. Delivery is expected within 15–20 days from the date the order is placed. You may request as many boxes as you need; however, we cannot guarantee the full order until all orders are received.

Please use this link to complete your request with the information we need. This is extremely time sensitive, so we are asking that each organization coordinate their order and submit by 1:00 pm TODAY.
