Please join RCPA for an inspiring webinar to build leadership skills. Constant change and overwork deplete our teams’ resilience. Using practical tools, you will spot behaviors that drain resilience in your teams, respond constructively to team feedback, and grow your team’s resilience. CEs for this training have been approved, PDC: 1.5.
In this training, you will learn how to:
- Identify leadership behaviors and practices that drain and nurture resilience in teams;
- Respond empathetically and effectively to employee concerns; and
- Implement practical strategies that grow your team’s resilience day by day.
The speaker for this session, Wendy Hultmark, has a Master’s Degree in Organizational Development & Communication, CPC, and is a Leadership & Career Coach, Facilitator, and Speaker. She helps leaders cut through overwhelming constant change so that they feel optimistic and empowered to lead their teams and careers through the latest challenge.
Wendy began as an HR professional in world-leading Boston hospitals and developed into a senior HR leader at a global Fortune 500 organization. Her coaching practice has led her to serve leaders in research labs, investment banking, non-profit, technology, and more, while her unique background helps her bring a practical, empathetic perspective to the demands of today’s rapidly changing world of work. Additionally, Wendy is a lead instructor for the Women in Leadership professional certificate program at Southern Methodist University, with expertise in the areas of Psychological Safety, Trust, and Engagement. She is a certified practitioner of Everything DiSC ® and The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team ® and is credentialed through the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

ODP Shares Invitation to Apply for the Capacity Building Institute (Year 8)
The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) has shared the Invitation to Apply for the Capacity Building Institute (Year 8). The Capacity Building Institute (CBI), offered by ODP and the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS), provides an in-depth learning opportunity to professionals across the entire service partnership, including direct support staff and supervisors, supports coordinators/case managers and supervisors, agency trainers, managed care organizations, behavior specialists, psychiatrists, professional counselors and therapists, and dual diagnosis treatment teams.
The Capacity Building Institute will meet for nine two-day sessions, beginning September 2024 and ending April 2025. These sessions will present current best practices and supportive models to best provide support to individuals with a dual diagnosis (individuals with an Intellectual Disability and Autism with co-occurring mental health issues and challenging behaviors) to lead healthy, happy, and meaningful lives.

OMHSAS Launches MyOMHSAS Learning Management System
The Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) has launched MyOMHSAS, its enterprise learning management system, providing tailored training modules and resources on behavioral health topics. Accessible to everyone, MyOMHSAS offers courses like Suicide Prevention in Care Management, Assisted Outpatient Treatment, Transgender Resources, and Child and Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP)/System of Care (SOC), with more modules planned for the future, such as Anti-Ageist Practices, Cultural Humility, and Working with LGBTQ+ in the Community.
To access training modules, users need to register and log in on the MyOMHSAS website. For inquiries or suggestions, contact OMHSAS via email. If you have additional questions, contact RCPA COO and Policy Director Jim Sharp.
Free Training Offered on PA’s Civil Commitment Law, Implementation of AOT
In response to the escalating number of nonviolent offenders requiring competency restoration, Treatment Advocacy Center is offering a free training session titled “Dismiss Upon Civil Commitment With AOT: One Alternative to the Competency Restoration Crisis.” This session delves into Pennsylvania’s civil commitment law and the implementation of Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT). Learn from community leaders and explore the benefits of AOT over competency restoration. Register for the July 30 session in Butler or the August 1 session in Allentown. CLEs, CJEs, and CEUs available.
