Training

During this training, Philadelphia Coordinated Health Care (PCHC) will talk about relationships: what they are and what they look like. PCHC will define sex and intimacy as well as discuss the difference between sex and sexual health. PCHC will increase your knowledge of unhealthy relationships and what to do if you find yourself in one.

After this training, attendees will increase their understanding of relationships along with resources to provide further information related to sexuality and intellectual disabilities.

Presenters include Interim Director of Nursing Karen Boyce, RN, CDDN, and Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Director of IDD and Mental Health Supports Nicholas DeMarco, Psy. D.

A new training program, entitled “Cognitive-Behavioral Strategies for Treating Individuals with Substance Use Disorder,” is now available. The training consists of an online module through TrainPA and in-person/virtual skills training sessions. It contains four levels of trainings, each building upon one another. The four levels are:

  • Level One: Foundational Information on Cognitive-Behavioral Strategies for Treating Individuals with Substance Use Disorder
  • Level Two: Conceptualization and Skills Application
  • Level Three: Demonstration and Evaluation
  • Level Four: Fidelity and Support.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced an updated web-based training series on the assessment and coding of Section GG. This training is intended for providers in the following post-acute care (PAC) settings: inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs), home health agencies (HHAs), skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), and Long-Term Care Hospitals (LTCHs). The course contains four lessons, including an overview of Section GG, assessment and coding of Section GG, coding of self-care items, and coding of mobility items. Each course includes interactive exercises for providers to test their knowledge related to the assessment and coding of Section GG items.

This three-hour virtual training is approved by the Departments of Human Services, Education, and State and meets all requirements for training on recognizing and reporting child abuse (to include Act 126 for school employees). It is also approved for continuing education credits under Act 31 (Department of State for health-related licenses) and Act 48 (Department of Education for teachers) at no cost. PFSA will submit your training verification to the Department of State or Education as appropriate on your behalf (details provided during training).
